Trial Available for Cambridge Companions Online

Cambridge Companions Online includes Cambridge Companions in the areas of philosophy, religion and culture. The Cambridge Companions are collections of essays on particular topics or on particular individuals. The trial is available through March 7th.

Updates Added to Oxford Islamic Studies Online

Both primary source documents and article updates have been added to Oxford Islamic Studies Online. Twenty new primary source documents have been added, such as an excerpt from The Alchemy of Happiness, titled 'The Knowledge of Self' (c. 1100), as well as the 'Prologue to the Sair ul Ibad ilal Maad' (c. 1111). Updates on Southeast Asia include, 'Muslim Women's Issues and Groups in Cambodia', 'Religious Pluralism in Indonesia', and 'Muslim Minority in Myanmar'.

Art and Architecture in Illinois Libraries Project Includes CTU Library


Art and Architecture in Illinois Libraries is a project that documents both the architecture of library buildings and the artwork contained within those buildings. You can search the collection of photographs of buildings and artwork, and there is a feature to browse for specific artists. Some of the artists featured in the Bechtold Library include Lillian Brulc, Fred Henze and Christopher Krymski.

The library now provides access to Project Muse Humanities, a collection of over 170 full text journals in the areas of literature, philosophy and history. You can browse a list of journals, or browse for available content in subject areas.

February 11-12: closed
Regular hours resume February 13

Library's Digitized Books on Women Religious Added to Internet Archive

The library's books from the latest proposal for CARLI's Book Digitization Initiative, Women Religious in the United States, have been added to the Internet Archive. Previous digitized items included multiple volumes of several Catholic periodicals, such as the Franciscan Herald and Catholic Fortnightly Review.
