Cake and Coffee for Theological Libraries Month

Everyone is invited to attend a reception with cake and coffee on Wednesday October 27th from 4pm-5:30 pm. For those who are interested, there will also be time to view the library’s recent book digitization project of items related to Catholicism in Illinois and ask questions.

October is Theological Libraries Month!

In celebration of Theological Libraries Month, we will be highlighting unique resources from the library's collection throughout October. Check out the library's display of items from our Franciscana collection in the library's book display case. A reception for Theological Libraries Month with refreshments will also take place later this month. More information will be posted here soon!

There is still time to win a free flash drive during Theological Libraries Month! The first twenty CTU students who watch the library's ATLA video tutorial during the month of October will win a flash drive. You must be currently registered at CTU, and there is a limit of one flash drive per person. Click here to begin the tutorial.

The Try-It Illinois database trial is available for the months of October and November. After you login to the Try-It site, you will be able to see login information for multiple databases. To obtain the trial password, check the sign posted near the library entrance, or contact the library.

As part of Theological Libraries Month, the library will be giving away flash drives in conjunction with a survey to obtain feedback about our ATLA tutorial. The first twenty students who complete the online survey at the end of the tutorial will receive a flash drive. You must be currently registered at CTU, and there is a limit of one flash drive per person. To start the tutorial, please visit the library’s tutorial page.

October is Theological Libraries Month! This October the library will kick off a film discussion group on Friday October 23rd at 7p.m. Movies will be selected from FilmMovement.com, which distributes films from film festivals from around the world.The film up for discussion will be The Island, winner of 5 Nika Awards (Czech Oscars) including best film. A brief discussion time will follow.

Starting this month, we will be highlighting some of the books in the library's collection in our new display case. Check out the library's book display for Theological Libraries Month, entitled Beyond B. The purchase of this display case was made possible by a grant from the American Theological Library Association.

The library will be sponsoring a scavenger hunt for the month of October in celebration of Theological Libraries Month. Patrons who complete the scavenger hunt will receive a free book, and will also be entered in a drawing for a fifty dollar gift certificate at the Seminary Co-op bookstore at the end of the month. Pick up a scavenger hunt form at the library's circulation desk, and good luck!
